  2. Johann Daniel Göltzer, in Evangelisch-Reformierte Kirche Mimbach (BA. Zweibrücken). Kirchenbuch, 1696-1798. (Salt Lake City, Utah: Genealogical Society of Utah, 1962).

Johann Daniel was baptized 7 Aug 1751 in Mimbach, Webenheim, Blieskastel.

The baptismal record is very difficult to read and has been interpreted in different ways. The first name mentioned after Johann Daniel is Eva, with either the rest of her name or her status underlined after her name. This name (Eva and the underlined portion) is repeated in the following record of 6 September (possibly a "churching" record or a confirmation record). This particular transcript of the record interprets that Eva was the child's mother.

A Daniel is mentioned, then Christian Göltzer and Lorentz Göltzer. Christian (son of Lorentz Göltzer) was apparently the child's father, as the child was called Johann Daniel Gölzer in his marriage record. This transcript assumes that Christian was Johann Daniel's natural father. (Some online trees, presumably being uncertain of the relationship, have treated him as an adoptive father.)

A later line says Maria Margeretha, ???? Börg Schwartz, and many online trees have interpreted this as the name of the child's mother (ignoring the middle part and calling her Maria Margaretha Schwartz), possibly because it was the only (relatively) clear female name in the record, if Eva was overlooked.
