On Jan. 11, 2002, Joan Helen Trott lost her battle with cancer, but continues to live in the hearts of her children, family and friends.

Joan was born Nov. 3, 1940, in Billings, Mont., to Richard T. and Helen R. Trott. Joan graduated from Butte High School in 1958 and from Western Montana College in 1965 with a degree in education.

She married Douglas C. Henninger, the love of her life, on April 8, 1960. Together they raised four children.

Joan was a very talented artist who painted landscapes and still life and also crafted stained glass windows. She was a voracious reader who continually took classes and taught those around her long after her retirement.

Joan was a member of the Lewis & Clark Republican Women's Club and served on the Clancy Public Library Board.

She is survived by her children Cinde Wolfe, Paula Martin, Richard Henninger and David Henninger; her sisters Sue Donohue, Teri Paske, Francis Hoversland; an aunt Jerrie and uncle Ernie Orlando of California; several cousins, nieces, nephews; and seven grandchildren.

She will be missed by all.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002, at the St. James Episcopal Church in Dillon. Private interment will take place in Mountainview Cemetery, Dillon.
