Joe Topp came with his parents to America when he was about ten years of age. They settled near Waukesha, Wisconsin. He purchased land in Hardin Co, Iowa in 1869 ans settled there with his bride, Dora Balt, in 1871. Joe Topp's birth date as given here was found in the original church records in Germany. The birth date shown on his gravestone is listed in the church records as his christening date.
