Jesse enlisted as a Private in Joshua George's Co 18th Battalion, "Flying Camp". With him was his younger brother Jonathan. He was commissioned 2nt Lt on 22 Jun 1778 under Capt John Ward Veazey's Company, 18th (Bohemia) Battalion, Cecil County which was part of Major Joshua George Bohemia Battalion of Militia.

Jesse Comegys was taxed on 51 acres St Albans Addition and 200 acres St Martian Addition.

His tombstone gives death as Jan 1804 but his probate records indicate death to have been before 2 Mar 1803.
