J. Byron Burdick died this morning (Mar. 27, 1951) in his home, 251 Maple Ave., after being in failing health for some time. Born in New Market, Oct. 16, 1895, he had lived in the New Market and Dunellen vicinity all of his life. He was a banker in the foreign exchange department of the Central Hanover Bank and Trust Company, New York. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Francis Du Mont Burdick; a daughter, Mrs. Felix Gavornik, at home; two sons, Robert D. Burdick, 353 Dunellen Ave., and William R. Burdick, 1425 W. Fourth St., Plainfield; three grandchildren; one brother, Russell Burdick of New Market; and a stepbrother, Harry Kenyon of Bound Brook. He was a son of the late Alice Avers and Jesse G. Burdick. He was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church at New Market, the Quarter Century Club of the Central Hanover Bank and Trust Company and the Zoning Board of Dunellen. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Friday in Runyon's Funeral Home. The Rev. E. Wendell Stephan, pastor of the Plainfield Seventh Day Baptist Church, will officiate.
