RAILROAD WORKER MEMBER; WOODSMAN OF THE WORLD WHITE OAK CAMP #755 1880 Census, Campbell, Lawrence County Ark. living with partents age 11. I found a marriage record for a Jerry Fitzgerald to Sarah Prate in Woodruff County Arkansas. Jerry age 27, Sarah age 19; married Nov 27, 1890 Did Jerry have another marriage? or was this the true name of Stella's mother. Stella told some in the family her mother's last name was Hanks, and told others her mother's last name was Watkins. Stella told me she was "Black Dutch". When I told this to a Research Assistant at the Family History center in Utah, she said that in those days people were afraid to let anyone know they had any Indian in their blood, so they hid it by claiming they were "Black Dutch" Arkansas is difficult to get any old records from. Cannot find any record of Stella's mother or her death. Did find Jerry Fitzgerald's death in the County records. Have never been able to find his parents before the 1880 census.
