    Jeremiah Marston, son of Ephraim, married Mar. 23, 1720, Mary, daughter of Lieut. John Smith and remained on the homestead. He enlisted as a soldier, in the army sent for the reduction of Louisburg, Cape Breton, Feb. 13, 1745, and was in Captain Sherburne's company. He "was killed a fighting with the French and Indians in the woods, at some distance from the city of Lousiburg."
