Obituary AGED RIVERDALE LADY FOUND DEAD Funeral services were held Saturday at the Seville Center church for Mrs. Jennie F. Carl, 80, who died suddenly at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Richard Scramlin. Although Mrs. Carl had suffered several years with diabetes, she had not been bedfast and had retired as usual Wednesday evening, but when her daughter went to her room Thursday morning, found that life had departed previously. Mrs. Carl was born March 6, 1861, and had spent her entire life in this locality, enduring all the hardships of the early days in rearing her family. Her husband, John Carl, and one son, Alph Carl, preceded her in death a number of years ago, and she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Scramlin, except a few months spent in the home of another daughter, Mrs. Rodney Anderson. Surviving are three sons, Willard Roy of Flint and Otto of Montcalm county; two daughters, Mrs. Anna Anderson and Mrs. Iva Scramlin; a sister new McBain; a brother in Lansing; a number of grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Rev. Carleton H. Burkett of Alma gave an impressive sermon. Interment was made in Seville Center cemetery. Source: Gratiot County Herald, Ithaca Michigan, Thursday. October 2, 1941, pg. 3. Cause of death was Coronary embolism. Image Gallery
