Facts and Events
Name Jasper Newton Hatfield
Gender Male
Birth[6] 10 Dec 1844 Greene County, Indiana
Marriage Est 1867 Greene County, Indianato Louisa Collins
Marriage 13 Oct 1874 Greene County, Indiana(his 2nd wife)
to Mary F. Bridwell
Death[6] 21 Dec 1931 Greene County, Indiana
Burial[6] Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Greene, Indiana, United States

Jasper married for the first time about 1867. According to the places of birth of his children, as recorded in several censuses, he migrated with his family to Missouri (county unknown) in the winter of 1867-68. By December 1869, he had moved his family again, to Kansas (or Kentucky, according to the 1880 census). But by the census enumeration in the summer of 1870, Jasper and his family were all back in Greene County, Indiana, living temporarily with his parents.

The reasons for these brief transplantations is not known; Jasper was a farmer, not a migrant mechanic or salesman. And because they all took place between the 1860 and 1870 censuses (and because he probably was not in one location in Missouri or Kansas long enough to purchase and then sell a farm), we may never know exactly where he was living, nor why.
