JASON ALAN WHITMORE Nashville, Tennessee Formerly Kouts, Indiana Jason Alan Whitmore, age 35, of Nashville, TN, formerly of Kouts, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2006. He was born December 30, 1970 in Valparaiso, the son of James A. and Glenda (Crouch) Whitmore. He grew up in Kouts and graduated in 1989 from Kouts High School, where he served as class president. He attended the University of Indianapolis and in the 1990s moved to Nashville, TN to fulfill a contract with Curb Records. Working with several bands, Jason wrote and recorded many songs and entertained for the last several years in and around the Nashville area, including the world famous Tootsies Orchid Lounge. Locally he won many radio and stage talent contests and was well known in the Porter County area. Jason leaves behind his mother, Glenda, of Kouts; brother, Brad (Becky) Whitmore and nephew Parker Whitmore and niece Ella Whitmore all of Valparaiso. He was preceded in death by his father, James in 2004. Jason's ability to entertain and make everyone smile will be missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Kosanke Funeral Home, Kouts, with the funeral service at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Kouts. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Community Action Drug Coalition, P.O. Box 2421, Valparaiso 46384 or to the Kouts High School Scholarship Fund.
