    Jane Rodgers was born in Ireland and married John Eakin in Ireland. Many of their children immigrated to America a few year prior and lived in Bedford County, TN, Jane and husband, John Eakin immigrated to Tennessee in 1822.

    Her husband, John, died within three years of their arrival, aged 63.

    Jane is buried in the older annex of Cowan Cemetery in an altar tomb. her husband, John, is buried to her left, and son, Spencer, who died suddenly while visiting his widowed Mother's home in 1840, is to Jane's right.

    Tomb Inscription, per Helen Marsh: "Mrs. Jane Eakin, Consort of John Eaking, died Jan 11, 1846, aged 76 yrs. Born in Ireland, County of Deery (now Donegal), immigrated to the County with her Husband of her youth in 1822, who together with a son, the beloved of her hear, she now follows to the grave."

    Jane Rodgers and John Eakin were the parents of John Eakin, who married Lucretia Pearson Eakin.
