Will Abstract
- Dated 20th Day of August 1747.
- I Jane Jones of Coventry Township in he County of Chester, Widow being Sick and weak in body, but of perfect Mind and Memory.
- Imprimis it is my Will and I do order, that all my Just Debts and funeral charges be [paid and Satisffied.
- Item, I give and Bequeath unto my Dloeft? Son Jno. Jones ye sum of five Shillings ___ or ye Value thereof Current Money of Pennsylvania, as much Dark Coloured Druggel as will make him a slose Bodrd Bodyrf Coat & Breeches & as much Black Druggel as will make a Waste Coat, and also a Large English Bible.
- Item I give unto my son David Jones ye sum of Ten Pounds being one years Rent, Due to me w/ first of last May, payment being, first made unto him for Wintering ye: my Creatures out of ye same:give unto him ye Cole of ye Young Pacing Mare which he has, now pasturing for me, requiring him to keep the said Mare well & in good order, until next Spring (without abase by riding, or otherwise) and then to deliver, her safe unto Jno. Godfrey; also ye sum of one Pound Ten Shillings being Money ye. I paid Abraham Wise-Man on his Account; all my Household Goods yt. are at this time in his possession except a Brass Pan, a Book entitled ye History of ye. Christian Religion, or an other entitled the Whole duty of Man.
- Item I give unto Luce his Wife, as much Flannel as will make her a Peticoat.
- Item I give unto my son Evan Jones a Red Horse which is now in his possession, and a Ewe & Lamb now in ye custody of my son David Jones.
- Item I give unto Anne his Wife as much Flannel as will make her a Bedd Gown & Peticoat, and all Household goods whatsoever of mine yt. are at this time in his or her possession: I likewise give unto my Son Evan Jones a small Tract Entitled ye whole Duly of Man & an old Common Prayer Book. Item I give unto his Daughter Anne a large Black Mare Eight or Nine Year old.
- Item I give unto my Cousin Margaret Davies ye sum of Twenty Shillings, & as much Flannel as will make her a Bedd & Peticoat ___ Bruggatt as will make her Little boy a Tunic.
- Item I give unto my son-in-law John Godfrey, whom I likewise constitute make & ordain my only and sole Executor, of this my Last Will & Testament; Two Steers & three Weathers, which are at this time in ye possession of my son David Jones, and all other efects )viz) Bills, Bonds, _____, Book Debts, Horses, Cows, Mares, Colts, Household goods, Bedds & Bedd Clothes & other things whatsoeverto me in any wife belonging or apertaining, to him his Heirs & assigns forever.
- And I do hereby utterly disallow revoke & disannull all & every former Testament, Wills, Legacies & Executors, by me in any ways before this time named, Willed and Beqqueathed, Retifying and confirming this & no other, to be my Last Will & Testament.
- In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand & Seal he Day & Year first above written.
