Maurice Laug remembers 'young John' and Anna. He said John came over from Germany with Henry Washing (spelling may be wrong). There is a Henry Washing rooming with John Laug in 1930 at Carrie McKee's.

1920 he was a chauffeur, 1930 an insurance salesman.

Obituary

JOHN H. LAUG, 83, RETIRED INSURANCE SALESMAN, DIES

John H. Laug, 83, of 8600 N. Piqua-Lockington Rd., died at 12:15 a.m. this morning in Piqua Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient three weeks.  He was failing in health the past three months.
Born July 31, 1888 in Nordhorn Germany, he was the son of Gert and Gertin Aldegerts Laug.  He was married to the former Anna Meinders on Oct. 16, 1916.
He was a member of the Greene Street United Methodist Church and the Piqua Fish and Game Club.  An agent of the Prudential Life Insurance Co., he has been retired 18 years.
Survivors include his wife, a son, George of Piqua; one brother and three sisters in Germany.  He is also survived by two grandchildren.  Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
The Rev. Warren Bright of Greene Street Church will conduct services Monday at 1 p.m. in the Jamieson Funeral Home.  Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Sunday with the family receiving friends from 3 to 5 and 7 until 9 p.m.
