•Wiltsie, W. D., was born in Hannibal October 1, 1835, was educated in the public schools, and enlisted in Co. E. 23d Michigan Vols., serving throughout the war. His brother, James A., was killed during the war at Jackson, Miss. His father, James Wiltsie, was born March 9, 1803, and married in October, 1823, Rachel Dorn, and settled in Hannibal. They resided there until 1836, then removed to the town of Oswego, where Mr. Wiltsie died July 15, 1893, and his wife in May, 1891.
