Owned hotel in Atlanta, GA called "400 Whitehall" by the family. According to the Atlanta History Center: “The hotel at 400 Whitehall Street was called The Frederick Hotel.  It became a hotel in 1941.  Prior to this date, the building served as an apartment complex called The Frederick Apartments.  James L. Wilson became the hotel’s manager in 1945 and served in this capacity until 1957.  James and his wife, Auline, lived in the building during the tenure.  According to the city directories, Brandon Harry managed the hotel in 1941, Horace L. Jordan managed it in 1942, and Mrs. Annie L. Easlie managed the establishment in 1944.  From 1961 to 1966, the city directories list 400 Whitehall as The Frederick Hotel and Dixie Apartments.  In 1967, the building’s final year, the directory lists the name as The Frederick Hotel.”

Obituary, The Atlanta Constituton, 21, Sept 1971: “James L. Wilson Services for James L. Wil- son, 80, of 2864 Snapfinger Road will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Ward’s Glen- wood Chapel, Elder Perry Green officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery. Mr. Wilson, retired owner of the Frederick Hotel, died Sunday in a private hospital. He was a member of Belvedere Sev- enth-Day Adventist Church and was a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his widow, a son, two sisters, a brother, three stepdaughters and a stepson.
