[Note: probably not many would argument with "probably in England", as the family immigrated to New England in 1671, but its inclusion as opposed to citing a parish register, etc., suggests this date comes from a family record recorded after the fact. It is repeated by many sources, but its basis is not identified. James seems to be the only child having a precisely specified birthdate instead of an estimate.]
