BAPTISM:Records of the Independence District of the Central States Mission, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: baptized 18 Sep 1908 by David A. Berry, confirmed 18 Sep 1908 by Geo. W. Brown.

Obituary says Alice "Frances" died of a paralytic stroke. Survived by her husband, Joseph Lee Donahue; Mrs. Mamie Vest, Mrs. Mattie Baker, Miss Bobbie Donahue, Dyal, Charles, Junior and Kenneth Donahue, all of Marshall; James F. Donahue of Colorado Springs; Mrs. Mossie Schwickrath of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Mrs. Mildred Smith of Laramie, Wyoming; Theodore Donahue of Bremerton, Washington; and Miss Jewell Donahue of Maulden, Missouri; six granddaughters; four grandsons; three sisters, Mrs. Mamie Holmes of Slater, Missouri, Mrs. Nannie Crfaycraft and Mrs. Lizzie McCarty of New Franklin. Two small daughters and a son, Dewey Donahue, preceded the mother in death.

I was told that I was afraid of "MamMaw" Alice at times. And since I was only 2 1/2 when she died, I, of course, don't remember her. But when she wore a black duster cap is when I would fuss and cry. I can remember that cap being in Grandma Mamie's dress drawer all the time I lived there. I wonder where that went? (Kitty Ammenhueser, 4 Jun 2001).

Alice married20,21 Joseph Lee DONAHUE son of Worth DONAHUE and Angeline CRABB on 19 Oct 1894 in , Montgomery, Kentucky. Joseph was born22 on 12 Mar 1873 in Howard's Mill, Montgomery, Kentucky. He died23 on 19 Nov 1948 in Weston, Platte, Missouri. He was buried on 24 Nov 1948 in Ridge Park Cemetery, Marshall, Saline, Missouri.

Obituary says Joseph Lee Donahue died of a heart attack at the Scott farm between Weston and Platte City, Missouri. Survived by Mrs. Mamie Vest, Miss Bobbie Donahue, Mrs. Mattie Baker, Dyal, Junior and Kenneth Donahue of Marshall, Missouri; Mrs. Mossie Schwickrath of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Mrs. Mildred Smith of Salem, Oregon; Mrs. Jewell Fondren of Birmingham, Alabama; James F. Donahue of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Theodore Donahue of Bremerton, Washington. Born March 22, 1874, Bourbon County, Kentucky, son of Worth and Angeline Crabb Donahue, married at Louisville, Kentucky in 1895 to Alice Frances Stull.

Kitty Ammenheuser says, "I recall my great-grandfather. I lived with grandma, his oldest daughter, from 1945 and he died in 1948. He was a carpenter. I had a little red wagon and he supplied me with the hammer and nails and I helped him build the house on the corner of Ohio and Hamner Street. His little house was there as well as his son Junie Donahue's trailer. How well I remember this. The house today (4 Jun 2001) is still standing and I know it's because of all the nails I nailed. My mom lived for a while in the early 1950's in the little one room place of great-grandpa's; she added a kitchen and bath to it. She then rented it and lived in the bigger corner house for years until she remarried. After her divorce from him, she returned to the little house of great-grandpa Donahue's and remained there until her death. That little house is also still standing this date. Great-grandpa died in Weston township near St. Joseph, Missouri, while working at the Warren Hall farm. He, as before, worked where the crops of tobacco were. When he was first married he traveled from Kentucky, to Missouri, to Kentucky, to Missouri and then Texas before settling in Marshall, Saline, Missouri. I don't know how they did it with a total of 14 children during the early 1900s. Grandma told me of being in a wagon and the "boys" would get to ride the cattlecar with the stock. Seems like she was a little envious (4 Jun 2001-kea).
