    James S Spencer was born on October 24, 1864 in Hardin County, Kentucky, the son of John H Spencer (1835-1901) and Malvina (Crady) Spencer (1842- ).

    A foreman of a section crew on the L&N Railroad, James married to Josie Cardwell and was a diabetic when he passed away on September 10, 1935 in Clarksville. He was buried two days later in Greenwood Cemetery.
