    James R. Sapp, 88, passed away at his home Thursday, March 27, 2014.

    James was born November 16, 1925 in Unionville, Iowa. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during WWII. James worked on the railroad, later worked for Maytag and retired from the Des Moines Water Works.

    James is survived by his wife Erma; sons, Jim, Danny and David; daughters, Linda Kay Darlene Sapp and Linda Mae Sohn; four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Sapp and Arizona Sapp; sister, Waneta I. Shanz; and his son, George N. Sapp.
