[Note: the last sentence appears to be intended to apply to the father James, even though it follows the listing of children. If so, it is contradicted by the probate documents. There is a death record on 8 Jun 1796 for a James Reed in Charlestown VRs, of consumption, age 32, which corresponds to a birth in 1764, so it appears to be a different James Reed.]

Burlington, 30 Mar 1807: "It being inconvenient to me to administer on the estate of James Reed late of Burlington deceased; I hereby signify the same to your Honor, and request that John Walker may be appointed to that trust. Olive Reed. 17 Apr 1807: John Walker appointed administrator for "James Reed Jr late of said Burlington deceased in the month of Dec'r last". 22 Apr 1807: inventory including "land with a dwelling house ... about 4 acres" and "other piece of Land containing about seven Acres". 30 Apr 1808: Petition of "Olive Reed of Burlington ... that she was the lawful married wife of the said James" that personal estate insufficient to pay debts, and allow her such part as is adjudged reasonable. 28 Apr 1808: Sale of land authorized. 30 Apr 1808: Insolvent, commission to review claims of creditors.- 22 Aug 1809: Distribution to creditors
