    Will of "James Priest of Waltham ... houswright", dated 28 May 1754, proved 12 Apr 1756, names daughter Sarah Pike, daughter Abigail Cory [later, "youngest Daught'r"], daughter Mindwell Stone deceased, son Josiah Priest, grandson Josiah Priest. Son Josiah and son in Law Isaac Cory to be executors.
    8 Jul 1756: Inventory of real estate of Mr James Priest Late of Waltham deceased.
    8 Oct 1759: Account of Josiah Priest & Isaac Cory, Executors of James Priest late of Waltham, allowed.

Genealogies of the Families and Descendants of the Early Settlers of Watertown, Massachusetts, Including Waltham and Weston (1855), p. 408, noted that Joseph and James Priest are about the same age as Joseph and James Price, sons of William Price of Watertown. Source:Savage, James. Genealogical Dictionary of the First Settlers of New England, Vol. 3, p. 484, promoted this speculation into fact, giving James Price the wife and children of James Priest, and claiming Price was often written as Priest. In fact, it is false, they are sons of Joseph and Hannah Priest of Boston. See NEHGR, Vol. 93, p. 206.
