James(3) (Pendleton), Jr., b. 5 Nov. 1650, Watertown, Mass. he was mentioned in the will of his grandfather, Major Brian Pendleton, in 1677, but in 1698 his half-brother, Joseph Pendleton, sold to Nicholas Morey, land on the Great Island at Portsmouth, N. H., "one acre of which was given to my brother, James Pendleton" [Rock. Co., N. H., Deeds, ix, 321]. It would appear from this that James(3) d. unm. prior to 1698.
