At their death 3 orphaned children who are enumerated with the Judge in Hinds County, Mississipps in 1840 Census: (1) Margaret Elizabeth Welcker-born November 10, 1826 in Athens, McMinn, Tennessee and died May 24, 1846 in Tennessee, (2) James Henry Welcker, and (3) William Thomas Welcker-born June 24, 1830 in Athens, McMinn, Tennessee and died November 4, 1900 in Oakland, Alameda, California. He was a professor at University of California at Berkeley.
Caroline Virginia Mitchell Welcker. Born January 30, 1817 in Washington County, Tennessee and died April 24, 1861 in Roane County, Tennessee. She married the brother of her sister's husband, Charles Frederick Welcker-born February 3, 1809 in Jefferson County, Tennessee and died July 20, 1861 in Roane County, Tennessee. They had 10 children, all born in Roane County, Tennessee.
