James Miller of East Greenwich. Will dated 15 Dec 1846, proved 30 June 1849, pps. 628-629. Sons: Henry Miller, James S. Miller whose wife is Freelove, Daniel Miller whose wife is Sarah G. Miller. Granddaughters: Susan Glading & Margaret Mason, daughters of son Henry Miller. Granddaughters: Susan E. Potter & Harriet H. Grandy, daughters of son James S. Miller. Grandson Daniel Miller son of son James S. Miller.
- b. at Scituate, R.I., 19 Jan. 1754, d. at E. Greenwich, 17 May 1849 in his 96th yr.; m. at Warwick, 31 July 1784, Elizabeth Burlingame, b. at E. Greenwich, 3 May 1764, d. 1 May 1831, bur. At E. Greenwich, dau. of William Burlingame. Six children, born at E. Greenwich. In 1778 and again in 1779 James Miller was a lieutenant in Col. Topham’s 2nd Battalion of Rhode Island infantry; in 1780 he was chosen lieutenant in Col. Christopher Greene’s Reg’t and later was listed as captain. He was a Revolutionary pensioner and was for many years Town Clerk of E. Greenwich.
