↑ Presumably based on the birth year of 1732 and location of Massachusetts that is posted, this refers to the James Jones b. Weston. Of his father and mother, Bond, p. 317, says, "They did not harmonize. About 1748, he, with his son James went to Caroline, whence he never returned." This would be the son, but given the quality of sources above, that is all speculation. Undoubtedly there are multiple James Jones in the Carolinas and how it was determined this was the one from Massachusetts hasn't been documented.
