His son, James Ellsworth Hippensteel, was the brother of Tressa Ann Hippensteel, who married David Frank Lower, who is buried in this same cemetery.

At last count, there are at least 43 Hippensteels buried in the Fairview Cemetery. Five of them have James as a given name!

Adams County is located just south of Cumberland County, and is the location of Gettysburg.

There are many others buried here who are also related to the Hippensteels, and David Frank Lower, and Daniel Lower (1792-1876).
