    WARREN - James Norman Gump, 55, 920 Maryland St. N. W., died of cancer at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, in St. Joseph Health Center.

    He was born Sept. 13, 1945, in Coburn, W. Va., a son of George and Ola Greathouse Gump.

    He lived in Warren since 1966 after moving from West Virginia.

    Mr. Gump worked as a tankman at Thomas Steel for 11 years, and previously worked for ITT Grinnell for 18 years. He was a 1964 graduate of Valley High School in Pine Grove, W. Va. He was a U. S. Army veteran who served in Thailand during the Vietnam War.

    Mr. Gump enjoyed gardening and hunting.

    He is survived by his wife, Judy Madigan Gump of Warren; three daughters, Michelle Kelly of Cleveland, Rebecca Bartoe of Southington and Angela Powers of Warren; his father of Coburn; three stepdaughters, Bobbi Joe Paridon of Cuyahoga Falls and Vicki Mullik and Tracy Finney, both of Champion; a stepson, Rick Fenton of Warren; three brothers, Charles of Marietta, and Harold and Joseph, both of Pine Grove; six sisters, Sylvia Brown, Evelyn Coen, Jean Coen, Deloris Gump and Marilyn Hostuttler; all of Pine Grove, and Sue Hayhurst of Pennsylvania; and five grandchidlren.

    Three brothers and two sisters are deceased.

    Service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. today. Burial is in Crown Hill Burial Park.
