    Second Lt. James E. Gardner, former Helena resident, is at present assigned to a quartermaster company attached to the 479th fighter group at an Eighth air force fighter station in England. Before entering the army air corps in January, 1943, Gardner was associated with the Monroe Calculating Machine company, Seattle. His wife and his mother, Mrs. R. C. Nimmo, reside in Portland.
