The 1880 census used was described in the Coleman to Rhoton letter as being compiled from Green County KY tax lists. A 1958 letter to Trudy Rhoton from Francis Coleman, the librarian of the KY Historical Society, gave a 9-October-1798 date for the Gaddie-Hash wedding. Another source states that this was the earliest recorded marriage of a Gaddie in the Green/Taylor area.
