“ELBERTON, Ga. -- James Donnie Craft, 69, of 1809 Craft Road, died Friday, May 13, 2005 at Athens Regional Medical Center.

A native of Elbert County, he was the son of the late Bennie England Craft and Sallie Ruth Evans Craft. He was a member of Rock Branch Baptist Church. He was the widower of Homerzell H. Craft and was preceded in death by brothers, B.E. Craft Jr., Marvin Craft and Thomas Craft.

Surviving are daughter, Shannon Christian of Dewy Rose; five grandchildren; and sisters, Cathy Cook of Decatur, Sue Bowers of Conyers, Betty Browner of Anderson, S.C., Frances Adams of Stone Mountain and Peggy Gaines of Arlington, Va.

Services are at 3 p.m. Monday at Faith Baptist Church; burial will follow in Rock Branch Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hicks Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

The family is at the home of Georgia Christian, 2647 Bowman Hwy., Elberton.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, Ga. 30605.”
