    377. James Tyler, born Oct. 1, 1778. He went to St. Mary's, Georgia, to engage in mercantile pursuits, and soon after his arrival, about the year 1820, was drowned in crossing the river at that place. He was a young man of interesting character and great promise, and his untimely end was greatly deplored by his numerous circle of friends.
