The land was Concession 4, Lot 43 in North Easthope Township about one mile north of Stratford, Ontario [out Mornington St, on the right, just before the road to the airport]. James Brennan owned the east half of the property and Michael owned the west half. The original lease consisted of one hundred sixty acres owned by the Canada Company who after logging the lands divided and sold lots to help in the developement of Western Canada. In January 4, of 1855, James Brennan purchased his property for 100 pounds and his brother Patrick purchased eighty acres in February 1855 of the eastern half apparently from his brother Michael. The property belonged to the family or relatives until about 1917. References
