Stated on long stone: Born Franklin County, VA 1795. Moved to Elbert Co., GA 1818. Married Frances Herndon Elbert Co. 1820. Moved to Jasper Co. GA 1820. Record Elder J.M. Adams. 15 children born to them. He and both wives buried Jasper Co. Two sons Elder William and John J. buried here. Remains moved here by descendants 1962.

He was married 3 times, first to Frances Herndon in 1820 and they had 15 children. At her death he married Mrs Julia or Judith Wise Hancock Oct 7, 1841 (not listed in Find a Grave)and she is buried in Jasper County. He then married Mrs. Martha M. Hudson Aug 13, 1842.
