- Jacob Spore m Maria Magdelina Dressler, dau of Andreas and Maria Dressler, in Dec. 1792 in Shen. Co. In 1801, he purchased the 45 1/4 acres of land, adjoining Philip Snapp, from Philip and Elizabeth Windle.
In 1807, he sold the same 45 1/4 acres to Emanual Windle. In 1807, Jacob Spore moved to Washington Co. TN, where others from Shenandoah Co. had moved, including Mauck, Hemp, Feasel (m a Dressler). Jacob Spore moved from Wash. Co. TN to Knox Co. TN in 1817, to Harrison Co. IN in 1831 and on to Gibson Co. IN (my home) within a year. Harrison Co. IN is the place, on the Ohio River, that many families from Shen. Co. VA, including many from the St. Paul Lutheran Church, moved to in the early 1800's. Names like Hottell, Keller, Fravel, Mauck, Sonner, Engleman, Crabill, Funk, Funkhouser, Hemp, Snapp and others still appear in Harrison Co. IN today.
