1. Jacob Oberholtzer Jr., b. Pa. (when and where unknown); m. in Salford Twp., Montgomery Co., Pa., Deborah, eldest dau. of Christian and Catherine (Krey) Halteman, (of Holdeman), of Lower Salford Twp. As Jacob Oberholtzer the pioneer and Christian Halteman were brothers-in-law, their wives being sisters, we see that Jacob Oberholtzer Jr. and his wife were first cousins. Jacob Oberholtzer died after Feb. 10, 1759 and before Sept. 26, 1759....
pp. 60-61: A deed from his widow, Deborah Oberholtzer, dated 17 Oct 1761, mentions a deed Jacob granted bearing the date 10 Feb 1759. Loomis takes this as proof that Jacob was alive on 10 Feb 1759.
p. 66: The transcript of his will says it was dated 13 January 1754 and proved Sept. 26, 1759 (citing Abstract of Wills, 1747 to 1763, Book 5, p. 1317, Phila. Hist. Society).
Note: As Oberholzer researchers have pointed out, the dates don't work for Deborah Krey to be the wife of this Jacob's father, and there is no evidence that Christian Halteman and Catherine Krey had a daughter named Deborah. Deborah Krey married this Jacob Oberholzer and Christian Halteman was considered his brother-in-law because Deborah and Catherine were sisters.
