Family Tree Confusion

Various family trees have this Jacob Lash (1796-1863) of St. Louis county, Missouri confused with the Jacob Lash (1795-1866) of Ashland county, Ohio, who is buried in Meng Cemetery. It is easy to see where the confusion lies since both men were born in New Jersey 1795-96, but these two individuals are clearly not the same, as they individually appear on an 1860 census in St. Louis county, Missouri and in Ashland county, Ohio respectively.
