Jacob3 Hazen (Thomas2, Edward1), born at Boxford, Mass., 5 Dec. 1691, died at Norwich, Conn., 22 Dec. 1755; … Before his marriage, Jacob received from his father a deed of gift for the place in West Farms on which he first settled, and retained it, although he was living on another farm at the time of his death. His will, dated 10 Dec 1755, was proved 6 Jan. 1756; the inventory amounted to £878.35.7. He left to his wife half the buildings on the farm where he then dwelt 'lying on the Showtucket River' and one third of his farm in Norwich West Society, etc; to Howlet all the farm 'on the Showtucket' where he then dwelt; to Jacob the farm lying in West Society; to Abigail Stedman, £79.10.0, to be paid in bills of credit or in livestock and grain; to Temperance Perkins, £58.6.8; to Lemuel Buswell and Elias Porter, sons of Mehitabel Porter, sundries; to Priscilla daughter of Benjamin Armstrong, £4 'on condition that she continue her service begun with me until she is eighteen.'"
