[It is hard to mistake the spelling of January versus March, so the question between the two must indicate that the month number is "1" (one). In 1708, i.e. before 1753, month #1 was March.]

Jabez Ward was son of Obadiah Ward of Marlborough and removed with his family to New Marlborough in 1744. He was prominent in the organization of the new town, does not seem to have been reappointed after the organization of Berkshire county, and died at New Marlborough, August 29, 1767, aged 60 years.
