    General Jabez Leftwich, born 1766, died June 22, 1855, married Delilah Stovall, daughter of John and Elizabeth Stovall on February 1, 1785.
    General Jabez Leftwich, was Inspector General under his brother General Joel Leftwich in the Revolution; and was Brigade Major of the 2nd Brigade of Virginia during the War of 1812. He was a member of the State Legislature from 1812-1821, member of the General Assembly from 1801 - 1809, U.S. Congress 1821 - 1825. He moved to Madison County, Alabama in 1825, and served in the Alabama Legislature. He died June 2, 1855.
