FABER, Ivan - Funeral services for Ivan Faber, 89, Lynden, were conducted on Monday in the First Christian Reformed Church of Lynden with Rev. Phil Kok officiating. Private burial preceded in Monumenta Cemetery. Faber, who died in Lynden on Thursday, Nov. 1, 1990, was born in Lynden on Aug. 16, 1901 to Ulbe and Barbara Faber. At the age of 3 he moved with his family to Oak Harbor until he returned to the Lynden area with his wife Gertrude (Bajema) in 1942. They were married on June 8, 1939 and Mrs. Faber died in 1960. Ivan was employed at the former Elenbaas dairy and then for 20 years was the custodian at the First Christian Reformed Church, where he was a member. He was married for a short time to Betty Roos, who died in 1974. He was also a sports enthusiast. He is survived by a son Ken and his wife Nancy of Lynden; daughter Sandra Faber of Ontario, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Geri Faber of Lynden; eight grandchildren; brother Peter Faber and wife Pauline of Mount Vernon and numerous other relatives. He was also preceded by an infant son Eugene and a son Sam in 1965. He was followed by a son, Jerry Faber, who passed away on Friday. Services were under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden.
