There is some doubt about the veracity of this Israel Wood being the Earl of Warwick (see http://books.google.com/books?id=3X-4t4qKo-IC&lpg=PA1607&ots=4Yv2efJgoc&dq=Israel%20Wood%20Earl%20of%20Warwick&pg=PA1607). This information apparently originates in "History of Orange County, New York" by E.M. Ruttenber and L.H. Clark, 1881, reprinted by Heart of the Lakes Publishing, Interlaken, NY, 1980, available in three volumes including a full name index from the Orange Co. Genealogical Society, 101 Main Street, Goshen, NY 10924. However, the listing of the people who have held the title contains no reference to a Wood surname.
