Isabella Clark was baptised on 16th October 1785 at Toddington in Bedfordshire, daughter of James and Catherine Clark. Isabella did not marry until she was 36 years old. Her husband was an agricultural labourer named Thomas Gobby. They appear not to have had any children together, although Thomas had five children from his first marriage.

Isabella appears with Thomas in the 1841 census living at The Square in the centre of Toddington. She died later that year aged 56, and was buried on Christmas Eve 1841 at Toddington. Thomas outlived her by nearly fifteen years.
