Hunt's Corner Cemetery has a marker for his grave, but also this monument: "Sacred to the memory of Col. Isaac Wardwell who died February 29, 1837 age 56. "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from henceforth yea saith the spirit for thy rest from their labours and their works do follow them." The age is the same, but date of death is different.

"In his youth, Isaac Wardwell was engaged in farming in Otisfield. At age 21 he left there to locate in Albany. Here he took up a tract of unimproved land in the southern part of the town, and, clearing a farm, improved and developed it into a valuable homestead, following the pursuit of agriculture until his death. He was one of the leading men of the place in his day, an officer in the State militia and a member of the Albany Board of Selectmen." -"Biographical Review of Oxford and Franklin Counties", 1896
