Facts and Events
Isaac Brough Law was the third child of Charles Law (1832-1862) and Hannah Bocock Law (1831-1893). He was born in Springville, Utah, Utah on April 17, 1862. He was blessed shortly thereafter by George Gardner in the Springville Ward. Isaac's father passed away a few months later on September 20th leaving Hannah with three small children: Hannah Mariah, Frederick William, and Isaac Brough. On July 2, 1864, when Isaac was 2 years old, Hannah re-married to John James Humphrerys (1836-1921). Shortly thereafter the family re-settled to Paris, Bear Lake, Utah. Isaac Brough married Susan Juchau Price (1867-1939) on September 17, 1885 in the Logan Temple in Logan, Cache county, Utah. They made their home on a farm home just north of Paris, Idaho. They had cows, pigs, chickens, and cultivated hay and grain. Isaac and Susan had eleven children. During the 1880's Mormons were not allowed to vote in Idaho elections and in order to retain some control over their local government, some would withdraw their membership from the LDS Church. Isaac was one of these. He withdrew his membership on October 20, 1888. It is unknown if or when he formally had his membership re-instated (no record has been found); however, he served a full-time LDS mission to the Northern States Mission from September 1899 to September 1901. During this mission Isaac lived in or visited the following cities and towns: Arorah, Chicago, Daisville, Danville, Decatur, Evanston, Foreston, Grandeture, Honey Creek, Inglewood, Kankakee, Marseills, Millwaukee, Mt. Moris, Neend, Oregon, Peru, Peoria, Polo, Raizorville, Rochelle, Rockvale Heights, Whitaker. After returning to Paris, Idaho, Isaac built a new home just north of their old home. Three of his eleven children were born. About 5 years after returning from his mission, Isaac contracted "Bright's disease" (a kidney disease) which kept him mostly bedridden for the last four years of his life. He died June 1, 1910.
