Funeral rites for Issac Boatright, age 81, were held from the North Thompson
Missionary Baptist Church, nera Normantown, Tuesday afternoon, with the Rev.
Billy Coleman, the pastor, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetary. Mr.
Boatright died at his home, at Blun, Monday afternoon, following an illness of
two weeks duration. A native of Emanuel County, he was the son of the late
Reuben and Demaris Rich Boatright, both members of pioneer families in this
county. He was a farmer and a leader in church and community affairs. He was a
member of the North Thompson Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Milton
Boatright of Blun, and Jesse Boatright of Normantown; one daughter, Mrs.
Demaris Daniels of Vidalia; three brothers, Math Boatright of Swainsboro, Steve
Boatright of Graymont-Summit, and Dave Boatright of Dublin; and a large family
connection in this and adjoining counties.”
