At the time of their twenty fifth wedding anniversary, I askmy grandmother what was the exact date of their marriage, saying Ithought I had a wrong because the date I had was only six months beforeI was born. After I wasborn, my parents went back on the train to Ohio and into my grandparentsis a brace. My father schooled himself to do plumbing and started abusiness heat operated out of my maternal grandfather's hardware storein the hand."

    "In 1923 or 1924, my father's aunt Carrie lent him $4,000.00 to build aprize winning design my parents saw in a newspaper or magazine, a grayshingled Cape Cod cottage on large lot on Granville street in Gahanna.Because I started to grow up there, I have lasting memories of thehouse and yard."
