Probably they were glad to go awayfor awhile from their friends and families because my mother waspregnant. At the time of their twenty fifth wedding anniversary, I askmy grandmother what was the exact date of their marriage, saying Ithought I had a wrong because the date I had was only six months beforeI was born. "they sneaked off before they were married and rented anapartment on the north side of Columbus "she said fiercely. After I wasborn, my parents went back on the train to Ohio and into my grandparentsis a brace. My father schooled himself to do plumbing and started abusiness heat operated out of my maternal grandfather's hardware storein the hand."
