  8. Letter
from Cecile to Norma Strang Larsen.

The children of John and Elizabeth Van Orsdal were all dead long before my time with the exception of Ira who lived in Quincy and Coldwater and I remember him. He was quite a tall dignified man and highly respected. He was considered to be very well off financially, and a whole business block in Quincy bore his name at the top identifying it as the VanOrsdal building. He gave me a set of bookends for high school graduation. He had one son, Charles and one of Charles children was Mary who was 2/3 feeble minded and finally wound up in a state institution in Coldwater.
