Sarcoxie Leader, Friday, June 5, 1903.

Miss Cora May Christman, aged about 23 years, died at the home of her parents in the east part of town, last Friday after about a year of suffering with that dread disease, consumption. Cora was a very patient sufferer during all her illness, never once complaining but always seeming cheerful, and in her last hour here on earth she was perfectly conscious, and said she was ready and willing to go, and that she was going to that home whee there is no trouble nor sorrow. Rev. Simpson was with her during her last hours. The funeral was preached at the M.E. church South, Saturday morning by Rev. L.F. Shock, Rev. Simpson also making a few remarks after which the remains were taken to a cemetery near Red Oak for burial. The family have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement.
