Will of "Humphrey Dearing of Arundel in the County of York ... now far advanced in Years", dated 13 Apr 1747, proved 20 Oct 1747, mentions "Sarah Dearing my now beloved Wife", "Humphry Dearing my Son" [sole executor], "my five Daughters Dorothy Adams, Mary Thomas, Abigail Hutchins Iudith Lasell & Elizabeth Emmons".

  2.   Source:Stackpole, Everett Schermerhorn. Old Kittery and Her Families, p. 338, suggests Humphrey is a son of Person:Roger Deering (2), but given that Humphrey was in 1719 already a selectman of Arundel, he must have been born several years before 1700. This makes it unlikely he was the son of a man b. 1678, whose 1741 will did not even mention Humphrey. Agewise, it would make more sense to make Humphrey a brother of that Roger, hence a son of Person:Roger Deering (1), but he is not mentioned in the will of that Roger either. Bottom line, there is no evidence to suggest who Humphrey's parents are.
