TAFT, Huldah, d. of Joseph and Hannah, [born] May 21, 1780.
- Huldah died less than a year after her marriage, presumably due to childbirth. There is a death record in Uxbridge VRs, p. 412, for "Hannah", d/o Parker and Huldah, who died 18 Oct 1811, a. 7d. It is marked GR1, so based on a gravestone in Prospect Hill Cemetery. However, the gravestone is found in Find A Grave and actually says "Huldah".
All this aside, the will of Joseph Taft, dated 1814 (Worcester Probate 57937), bequeaths a feather-bed to his granddaughter Huldah Tyler, who is not yet 21. There are no birth records to provide any enlightenment, but one naturally wonders if the mother gave birth to twins, one of whom lived, and one of whom did not? Otherwise, this is very confusing. An AFN indicates that Huldah Tyler m. Ohio 1831 Matthew Borland, and the 1850 census (line 18) does show a birth about 1812 in Massachusetts.
